Serving for two years as the editor of my collegiate newspaper, The Meter, and working as a freelance reporter for The Chicago Crusader, my journalism experience has equipped me with a strong background in producing compelling, attention-grabbing narratives with a high emphasis on accuracy and fact-checking.

Additionally, my experience in working for both marketing and public relation agencies has provided an additional confidence in producing content that engages audience to increase sales and visibility as appropriate.

In this digital age an engaging social media presence is the starting line for a brand or company to expand their reach. I understand the importance of producing no-frills content that is both attention-grabbing and to the point.

When acceptable, taking the leap to exercise some creative courage can produce worthwhile results. While not every client can afford to take such risks, some stories can benefit from unconventional methods to fully communicate a message. This was my approach when reporting on the experience of Black and Brown journalists in 2018. Using prerecorded text messages to transcribe an interview with a Black journalist helped convey a personal connection and perspective to viewers.

My educational and professional journalism experience, coupled with producing written content across a number of agencies including the non-profit sector, engineering, and healthcare, has strengthened my ability to gather information and data across a plethora of resources, including through engaging informational interviews.
